In Nakuru County, a traffic officer reportedly found himself in a difficult situation after stopping a young man who was driving carelessly and not following traffic rules.
The officer had been on normal duty when he noticed the vehicle moving in a suspicious manner and decided to stop it for inspection. It is reported that the officer did not know that the young man was the son of a senior politician in the country.
After stopping him, the officer allegedly ordered the driver to step out of the vehicle and then instructed him to drive to the police station for further questioning.
Upon reaching the station, the officer reportedly took the car keys, handcuffed the young man, and placed him in a cell.
However, within a few minutes, the police station boss allegedly received a phone call from senior authorities ordering the immediate release of the suspect.
After the young man was released, he demanded his car keys. Unfortunately, the officer could not find them, as they had been misplaced. This situation reportedly caused more tension, and things escalated quickly. The officer later found himself in trouble and was locked in the cell for the night.
However, many Kenyans have condemned the incident, saying that law enforcement should be applied equally to everyone regardless of status or wealth.
They argued that no one should be treated differently when it comes to breaking traffic rules, and fairness should always be maintained in the justice system.
