On Sunday in Kisumu County, residents were left in shock after the wife of a local pastor, Ezekiel Mashiro, who is well known in the region, was allegedly attacked with acid by a group of people believed to be boda boda riders.
The incident has left the community deeply disturbed and asking many questions about what led to the attack.
According to reports, the woman was on her way home after attending a church service when the group of riders reportedly surrounded her vehicle.
When she opened the door to try and understand what was happening, one of the riders is said to have suddenly thrown acid on her face, causing serious injuries. People nearby rushed to help after hearing her screams.
The injured woman was quickly taken to hospital for emergency treatment. However, doctors reportedly confirmed that she died shortly after arrival due to the severe burns caused by the acid attack.
Her death has brought great sorrow to her family, friends, and church members who knew her as a peaceful and kind person.
Police officers in Kisumu County have since launched investigations into the incident. They have vowed to track down and arrest all those responsible for the attack.
Authorities have also urged members of the public with any information to come forward to help speed up the investigation and ensure justice is served.
