Busia Woman Representative Catherine Omanyo has reportedly made remarks that have once again caught the attention of many Kenyans.
Speaking openly, she claimed that she was not interested in taking up the Secretary General (SG) position in the Orange Democratic Movement, and that she had no plans at all to go for that role.
In her statement, Omanyo explained that the recent changes within ODM surprised many party members. She said that even senior leaders, including Oburu Odinga, were left in shock by how things unfolded.
According to her, the situation inside the party has raised many questions among supporters and leaders alike.
She went on to claim that she was forced into the SG position by an unnamed individual. Omanyo further alleged that the same person is responsible for giving directions that led to the removal of Edwin Sifuna from the SG role.
However, she pointed out that no clear reason was given for his removal, leaving many people confused.
Omanyo also stated that Sifuna is still a member of ODM and that many people are not even aware that he was removed from the SG position. She added that despite the current political situation, she believes the Kenya Kwanza government will only serve for one term.
In conclusion, she made it clear that ODM members will not be forced to support President William Ruto in the next election.
According to her, the party will stand with the wishes of the Kenyan people and do what citizens expect from them moving forward.
