A single mother living in Nairobi County was forced on Sunday to apologize to her family members and friends after her private photos and videos were accidentally shared in a family WhatsApp group.
The incident caused embarrassment and confusion among relatives who saw the content without warning.
In a statement, the lady identified as Moreen said she had forgotten to set a password on her Telegram app. She explained that her young son picked up her phone while she was in the kitchen.
Without knowing what he was doing, the child accidentally accessed the app and shared the private content to the family group.
Moreen further said that she feels very ashamed about what happened. She admitted that it was a serious mistake and promised that it will never happen again.
She also vowed to be more careful in the future by always locking her phone and keeping it away from her child when not in use.
However, the video has already circulated widely on social media, attracting mixed reactions from Kenyans. Some people expressed sympathy for the woman, saying it was an honest mistake, while others questioned why she did not secure her phone properly.
The incident has sparked online discussions about privacy and the importance of phone security in the digital age.
