Where Did He Get That Money? EACC Urged to Arrest Senator Edwin Sifuna After Cash Donation at Nakuru Church

Leaders aligned to the Kenya Kwanza government have called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to move swiftly and arrest Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna.

This comes after the senator was seen giving out a bundle of cash as a donation at a church in Nakuru on Sunday. The incident has raised questions among some political leaders who now want investigations into the source of the money.

According to leaders led by Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai, Sifuna may not be in a financial position to give out such a large amount of money. They argued that the donation looked suspicious and called on the EACC to take action.

The leaders insisted that Sifuna should explain clearly where he got the money from, saying that transparency is important for public officials.

They further claimed that as a senator, Sifuna’s main role is to oversee the use of public funds and represent the interests of citizens. Because of this responsibility, they argued that it is difficult to understand how he could afford to give out such a large donation.

The leaders maintained that public servants must always be accountable, especially when it comes to money matters.

However, the calls to arrest Sifuna have sparked a heated debate on social media. Many Kenyans have questioned whether the reaction is fair, with some saying that leaders from the opposition are often treated differently compared to those in government.

Others have defended the need for investigations, saying that all leaders should be held to the same standard regardless of their political side.
