Residents of Vihiga County were left in deep shock after a domestic dispute between a husband and wife ended in a tragic death on Thursday evening.
According to reports from the area, the man, identified as Wycliffe Mutzozo, allegedly got into a serious argument with his wife after he demanded to be served food, specifically ugali.
The situation reportedly turned violent when the disagreement between the two escalated into a physical fight.
Reports indicate that during the fight, the man allegedly overpowered his wife. Witnesses claim that while the woman was down, the suspect picked up a sharp knife and attacked her.
It is alleged that he gouged out her eyes before stabbing her in the neck, causing severe injuries that sadly led to her death. The horrifying incident is said to have happened in the presence of their children, who were left helpless and terrified by what was happening.
Eyewitnesses in the area later revealed that the suspect had earlier left home without leaving money for food. When he returned later that evening, he reportedly demanded to be served a meal.
However, the wife allegedly informed him that there was no food in the house since he had not left any money for shopping.
According to residents, the disagreement quickly turned into a dramatic scene as the couple argued loudly before the situation became violent. Neighbors who later arrived at the scene were shocked by the tragic incident that had already occurred.
Reports further indicate that the suspect fled from the scene immediately after the incident and went into hiding.
