Some members of the ODM Party have reportedly rushed to apologize to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna following reports about his removal as the party’s Secretary General.
The leaders admitted that the situation caused confusion and tension within the party, forcing them to speak out and clarify what really happened.
In a statement, the members said that the party did not have any official plan to remove Sifuna from his position.
They claimed that they were misled and also faced pressure that pushed them into supporting a decision they now regret.
According to them, the information they received at the time was not accurate, and this led to misunderstandings within the party leadership.
The members have now called on Sifuna and his supporters to return and continue working together for the sake of the party.
They said unity is very important at this moment, especially as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
They also revealed that they have suspended any talks related to working with UDA, saying the focus should now be on strengthening ODM from within.
At the same time, the members declared that they have stopped any efforts to campaign for President William Ruto. This follows the fallout between ODM and UDA, which has sparked a heated debate on social media, with many Kenyans sharing different opinions on the matter.
The situation continues to attract attention as political alignments begin to shift ahead of the next election.
