On Friday morning, residents of Kakindo Village in Mubende were left in shock after a woman identified as Grace Natalie, a school headteacher, was linked to a brutal murder involving her husband.
According to reports, villagers accused Natalie of allegedly hiring a hitman to kill her 53-year-old husband in a carefully planned attack that stunned the entire community.
It is alleged that she paid the hitman about KSh 108,000, after which the two proceeded to the location where the husband was staying and carried out the attack.
Witnesses said the incident happened very quickly, leaving the victim with little chance to defend himself as the brutal assault unfolded in front of horrified villagers.
Police reports indicate that the man was killed using a panga. After the attack, the hitman reportedly attempted to flee but was captured by quick-thinking residents before being handed over to authorities.
An officer at the scene described the incident as deeply disturbing and confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and whether other individuals were involved.
Following the incident, an angry mob attempted to lynch the teacher, but police officers intervened in time and rescued her from being attacked.
She was later taken into custody and rushed to a nearby hospital where she is receiving treatment under police guard.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and allow investigations to proceed as the case continues.
