Manyora Fires Back at Makau Mutua, Says It’s ODM That Is “Politically Dead” in Heated Exchange Over Sifuna

Popular political analyst Professor Herman Manyora has dismissed recent remarks made by President Ruto’s advisor on constitutional matters, Professor Makau Mutua, who claimed that Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna is on the verge of political decline.

In his earlier comments, Makau Mutua argued that the former ODM Secretary General has no meaningful political future, insisting that time will soon prove Sifuna’s irrelevance in Kenya’s political landscape.

Mutua also suggested that Sifuna, who has increasingly been branded a party rebel within ODM, is losing political influence and may soon fade out of active politics.

However, Professor Herman Manyora strongly disagreed with those sentiments, describing them as misleading and insisting that it is actually the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party that is politically weak, not Senator Sifuna.

“It’s the ODM party that is dead,” Manyora stated, sharply countering Makau Mutua’s remarks.
His comments come at a time when ODM is facing internal political tensions, with growing debates over its direction and future leadership after Raila Odinga.

With Senator Oburu Odinga now playing a key role in the party’s leadership structure, critics have raised concerns about whether he has the political strength to manage rising internal disputes and keep the party united.

The ongoing exchanges highlight deeper divisions and differing opinions about the current state and future of ODM politics in Kenya.
