Fatuma Idd, a Tanzanian citizen, is said to be serving a 50-year prison sentence alongside a death penalty in Kenya over a crime she insists she had no involvement in.

Her troubles began after she was arrested together with her Kenyan husband in Loitoktok, an incident that completely changed the course of her life as she now remains behind bars.

Reports indicate that Fatuma had initially traveled to Kenya to visit her aunt. During her stay, she met a man, fell in love, and entered into a relationship without knowing the nature of his activities.

She believed everything was normal, unaware that she was walking into a dangerous situation.

It is alleged that the man later involved her in transporting trucks to different locations. Fatuma maintains that she had no idea what the trucks were carrying, stating that she trusted him fully and never suspected she could face consequences for his dealings.

She recalled that one early morning at around 5:00 a.m., while she and her husband were asleep, there was a knock at the door.

Upon opening it, officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations were outside. Both of them were arrested, leaving her confused about the reason behind it.

Fatuma was taken to Loitoktok Police Station, while her husband was moved elsewhere for questioning.

A search conducted at their home led to the discovery of fake vehicle number plates, which is when she claims she first learned that her husband had allegedly been involved in car theft activities.

To her surprise, when the case went to court, she found herself facing charges alone. The accusations that were expected to involve her husband were reportedly dropped, leaving her solely charged with robbery with violence and handling stolen property.

Despite insisting on her innocence, Fatuma was convicted and handed a 50-year prison sentence along with the death penalty for the two offenses.
Meanwhile, her husband was released, and no one stepped in to defend her.

Today, Fatuma remains incarcerated, with many viewing her situation as a case of misfortune and a justice system that may have failed her.
