Shock and grief have gripped residents of Roysambu after a 43-year-old businesswoman was found brutally murdered inside her apartment along Lumumba Drive.
Florence Nyagah, a well-known hairdresser who worked at Freddyz Salon at Platinum Plaza, was discovered dead in her house at Faiths Apartments in the Kasarani area. Detectives from Kasarani Police Station have launched investigations into the killing.
The grim discovery was made on Sunday after her daughter grew worried over repeated unanswered phone calls.
Nyagah had last spoken to her daughter through a video call on February 28.
When efforts to reach her failed, the daughter went to check on her at the apartment.
According to police, Nyagah was found lying on the floor of her second-floor house in a pool of blood.
She had sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and forehead.
Officers recovered a knife without a handle under a kitchen table.
The weapon is believed to have been used in the attack.
Investigators say the victim had been in the house with a man believed to be her partner on the night before her death.
Authorities have identified the individual as Daniel Macharia Mburu, who is reported to be a senior police officer.
By March 2, he was still at large as detectives pursued leads to trace him.
The body was moved to the mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police say the motive of the killing is yet to be known as investigations continue.
