In May 2021, 25-year-old Halima Cissé from Mali captured global attention after giving birth to nine babies at the same time, becoming the first known mother to have a surviving set of nonuplets.
Because the pregnancy was considered extremely high-risk, Halima was transferred to Morocco, where a large team of medical professionals prepared for the rare delivery.
At 30 weeks of pregnancy, she underwent a successful Caesarean section and welcomed five girls and four boys. Each baby weighed between about 500 grams and 1 kilogram at birth. Get The Full Story Here.
