Authorities and community leaders have issued a stern message saying that anyone found holding the girl unlawfully will face serious legal consequences, including jail time.
Linet Wanjiru, a Grade 8 pupil from Thuguma Sub-location, Sauth B village, reportedly went missing one week ago. According to her family, she left home under normal circumstances but never returned, raising alarm in the community.
Since her disappearance, both the family and police officers have been trying to trace her whereabouts, but all efforts have so far been unsuccessful. The situation has left the family distressed and full of worry, as days continue to pass without any sign of the young girl.
The family, together with local authorities, is now appealing to members of the public to remain alert and report any information that could help in locating her.
They have urged anyone who may see a girl matching her description to immediately contact the nearest police station or local administration office.
Authorities have also warned that anyone found hiding or keeping the girl illegally will face strict punishment according to the law. The community has been encouraged to share any leads that may assist in bringing Linet Wanjiru back home safely and unharmed.
