A tragic incident involving a Murang’a third-year university student has shocked many Kenyans after she reportedly died under unclear circumstances in a Kileleshwa Airbnb on Sunday.
The incident has raised many questions, with investigations now ongoing to establish what really happened.
According to reports, the young woman identified as Consolata Githinji entered the Airbnb early in the morning at around 4:00AM together with her boyfriend, Tonny Odhiambo. The two were said to have arrived quietly and went inside the apartment.
It is further reported that the couple did not stay inside for long. CCTV footage allegedly shows the door opening at around 4:17AM, and moments later, screams were heard coming from inside the apartment, raising concern in the building.
At around 4:20AM, Consolata’s boyfriend was seen leaving the Airbnb alone. Security guards who were on duty quickly rushed to the scene after noticing unusual activity.
Sadly, they found the young woman lying outside the building after reportedly falling from the sixth floor.
According to police reports, Tonny Odhiambo was later arrested and taken into custody. He allegedly told investigators that his girlfriend had jumped from the building, a claim that has left many Kenyans confused and divided online.
Police have since launched full investigations into the incident, with the suspect still in custody as authorities try to establish the exact cause of the young woman’s death.
