A popular preacher in the country has reportedly caused mixed reactions after making a shocking admission during a political campaign in Kasarani, Nairobi.
The pastor is said to have spoken about an incident involving Marion Naipei while he was trying to campaign for a Member of Parliament seat.
According to the statement he made, the pastor said he was travelling with Marion and her children in his vehicle as he went around Kasarani for campaign activities. He claimed that at the time, Marion was already drunk and not in a clear state of mind.
He further explained that during the journey, Marion asked him in front of a crowd that she needed to use the toilet.
The pastor said he then told her to relieve herself inside the vehicle, not realizing that the children were also inside the car at that moment.
He expressed regret and said he hopes the children did not see anything that would have made them uncomfortable.
He also admitted that the situation has caused him stress and problems in his relationship with Marion.
Despite the controversy, the pastor said that Marion has now become his friend. He added that he is willing to help her stop alcohol abuse and encourage her to live a better and more responsible life going forward.
