In Kisii County, a very sad and shocking incident happened on Monday afternoon after a female teacher allegedly turned violent inside her home following job loss.
Reports say she first called her husband home, where he was given alcohol before a tragic incident unfolded that led to the deaths of her husband and four children. After the incident, she is also said to have taken her own life at the same home.
According to the area chief, residents heard loud screams coming from the house and quickly rushed there to find out what was happening.
However, when they arrived at the scene, they were met with a disturbing situation that left the whole neighborhood in shock and fear.
It is also reported that the teacher had written a letter before the incident and left it on a table inside the house after she was fired from her job.
In the letter, she allegedly explained that she depended on her salary to support her family, including her husband who did not have a job and was living with a disability.
She further wrote that life had become too hard for her and she felt overwhelmed, saying she had decided to end her suffering along with that of her family.
The incident has deeply shocked local residents, many of whom are still struggling to understand how such a tragedy could happen in a family setting, especially after the teacher lost her job.
