Just In: Man Seen on Top of a Traffic Light in Kisumu During Mwananchi Rally Reportedly Arrested

As reported by several sources on social media, a man who was seen climbing on top of a traffic light in Kisumu County during the Mwananchi Rally on Sunday has reportedly been arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

According to the reports, the man was taken into custody for allegedly violating traffic rules during the high-energy protest rally that attracted a large crowd in Kisumu.

Witnesses say the incident caused a brief disruption as people watched in shock while the man climbed the traffic lights in what appeared to be a risky and dangerous act.

Authorities later moved in and arrested him shortly after the incident. He has since been transferred to Bungoma Police Station, where he is being held as investigations continue.

Police have not yet released full details on what led him to climb the structure, but they confirmed that the act was a serious breach of public safety regulations.

The man is expected to be taken to court on Tuesday, where he may face charges related to traffic obstruction and endangering public infrastructure.

Meanwhile, the arrest has sparked mixed reactions among Kenyans online. A section of social media users has strongly condemned his actions, saying he put his life and others at risk.

However, others have called for his release, arguing that the punishment may be too harsh and urging authorities to handle the matter with leniency.

The case continues to attract public attention as more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.
