RIP: Photo of a Top Nakuru Businesswoman Who Was Reportedly Abused for 17 Hours Nonstop Before Being Murdered Emerges; Family Seeks Justice

A family in Nakuru County is still searching for justice following the painful death of their daughter, Angeline Mary Wangui, a young woman whose life ended under disturbing circumstances.

According to Mr Maina, a resident of Langalanga in Gilgil, he last spoke with his daughter just hours before her death.

The conversation was normal and calm, with Wangui telling him she was preparing supper before going to bed. She even asked him to pass greetings to her mother.

Before ending the call, she mentioned that she and her sister, Tracy, planned to visit home the following day since it was a public holiday. Sadly, that promise was never fulfilled.

On the evening before the tragedy, Wangui was at her sister Tracy Nyambura’s house in the Barnabas area of Nakuru.

Nyambura, who was pregnant at the time, said Wangui received a phone call inviting her to a house party in Kiamunyi. Shortly after, transport money was sent to her phone.

Nyambura explained that Wangui told her she would go out but return later that night. However, that would be the last time she was seen alive.

The next day, the family received heartbreaking news that a woman’s body had been discovered near Ngata Bridge along the Nakuru–Eldoret highway bypass. The body was found inside a sack by the roadside and later identified as Wangui.

A postmortem later revealed that she died of suffocation and had been sexually assaulted. Police later arrested a suspect who had allegedly invited her to the party.

More than three years later, the case is still unresolved, and no prosecution has been completed, according to the family.

Wangui’s father, Mr Maina, said the family continues to wait for justice and described the loss as deeply painful.

He explained that they were later informed by a pastor and eventually identified the body at Nakuru City Mortuary.

The family says they only want justice for their daughter and closure over her tragic death.
