Opposition Leaders Led by Rigathi Gachagua Hold Mega Rally in Nairobi, Condemn Gikomba Market Demolitions

Opposition leaders led by Democratic Change Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua held a major political rally in Nairobi County today.

According to updates shared by the former Deputy President on his Facebook page, the opposition team addressed residents and traders at Gikomba Market, Nairobi, during the event.

In a live-streamed address, the leaders strongly criticized the recent demolitions carried out by the government at Gikomba Market, which they said left hundreds of traders counting significant losses.

Several opposition figures attended the rally, including Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former nominated senator Millicent Omanga, among others.

The gathering comes just a few days after the opposition team conducted another series of political rallies in Makueni County, indicating an escalation of their campaigns across different regions.

During the rally, the leaders reiterated their concerns over the treatment of small-scale traders, arguing that the demolitions had severely affected livelihoods in the area.

On social media, Kenyans shared mixed reactions, with some praising the opposition for standing up for affected traders, while others expressed differing political opinions.
