"I Told You He Was a Traitor and You Didn't Listen," Ruto Claims Gachagua is Secretly Seeking Deals Ahead of 2027 Elections, Urges Allies to Dump Him

Speaking in Murang’a County on Friday during his development tour, President William Ruto warned leaders who are aligning themselves with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

He said he will not work with such leaders and urged them to reconsider their political choices ahead of the 2027 elections.

In his remarks, the President reportedly claimed that Gachagua is secretly looking for political deals with him ahead of the next general election.

He further alleged that these talks are being done without the knowledge or approval of his close allies, including Nyandarua Senator John Methu and other leaders in the region.

Ruto also said that Gachagua has allegedly promised to help him rally support from the Central Kenya region if he agrees to support him politically.

He suggested that such agreements are being made behind the backs of his allies, which he described as dishonest and misleading.

The President further stated that he will not enter into any political agreement with Gachagua. He added that he has known and worked with the people of Central Kenya for over 20 years, even before Gachagua entered politics, and therefore understands their needs and loyalty.

He concluded by saying that he has served the Central region for many years and believes the people will continue to support him in the 2027 elections based on his track record and development agenda.
