Gideon Moi Among Leaders Who Attend Colourful Koito Ceremony for Charles Keter’s Daughter Tracy

Former Baringo senator Gideon Moi was among distinguished guests at the traditional wedding of Tracy Keter, daughter of former Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter, in a colourful koito ceremony attended by political leaders and close family friends.

The ceremony drew notable figures, including Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi, as leaders joined the Keter family to celebrate the bride in a culturally rich event marked by song, dance, and traditional rites.

Tracy looked stunning in a brown, figure-hugging gown complemented by a yellow cover-up. She accessorised with a beaded traditional necklace and matching headpiece, blending modern elegance with cultural heritage during the vibrant ceremony.

Speaking during the event, Gideon Moi congratulated his longtime friend, fondly referring to him as “Charlie,” and admitted that giving away a daughter in marriage is not easy for any father.

He said fathers of girls understand the emotional weight of such moments, describing Charles Keter as brave for managing to hold his feelings together while handing over his first-born daughter.

Gideon Moi revealed he has one daughter, Lulu, and jokingly declared he would never give her hand in marriage. He said she is the light of his home and plays a central role in his life.

He recounted a light-hearted conversation with Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, who had asked when he would give his daughter away. Gideon responded firmly that Lulu would remain under his watch.

In his humorous remarks, the former senator said his daughter takes care of him and makes his house feel like home, adding that marriage for her would be a difficult decision for him to accept.

The lively ceremony blended humour and heartfelt reflections, as leaders celebrated love, friendship, and family bonds in a traditional setting that underscored the enduring value of cultural heritage.
