A shocking video has emerged on social media showing a clash involving Senator Karen Nyamu and a boda boda rider after the man publicly called her “beb,” attracting attention from people who were around.
In the video, the senator appeared very unhappy and confronted the rider in front of a small crowd. She questioned him strongly, asking if he knew how respected she was in society and why he would casually refer to her as “beb” in public.
According to the video, police officers later arrived at the scene and were preparing to handcuff the man and take him into custody. However, before he was arrested, the rider tried to defend himself and begged for forgiveness.
The man explained that he did not mean any disrespect. He said he was only trying to appreciate the senator after she had earlier given him KSh 5,000. He added that he had struggled the whole day without making any good earnings, and the money meant a lot to him.
After listening to him, the senator reportedly instructed the officers not to arrest him. Instead, she told them to release him but warned him not to repeat calling her “beb” again in public.
The incident has since sparked mixed reactions online, with many people debating respect, language, and how public figures should be addressed.
