National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah donned the iconic Alliance High School uniform to welcome President William Ruto during the school’s 100th anniversary celebrations.
The historic event, held at Alliance High School in Kikuyu, brought together alumni, students, leaders, and guests to mark a century since the school’s founding in 1926. The celebrations were filled with nostalgia as old boys reunited and shared memories.
Known as one of Kenya’s top national schools, Alliance High School has produced respected leaders, scholars, and professionals who have shaped the country. Its motto, “Strong to Serve,” continues to guide generations of students.
Ichung’wah, an alumnus of the school, wore the olive green sweater, white shirt, maroon tie, and grey trousers that make up the official uniform. He proudly stood among students and fellow alumni as he received President Ruto on the school grounds.
Photos and videos shared online captured Ichung’wah smiling and shaking hands with the President, while students cheered as the presidential convoy entered through gates decorated with school banners.
In past statements, Ichung’wah has expressed support for improving the school, noting that as a national institution, it requires broader backing beyond constituency funding. His decision to wear the uniform symbolized loyalty and gratitude to his alma mater.
The centenary ceremony included speeches, performances, and exhibitions of historical artifacts, making the celebration not only a milestone but also a reminder of Alliance High School’s enduring role in shaping Kenya’s future leaders.
