A women representative has shocked many Kenyans after she opened up about her past during a TV interview. Her story caught the attention of many people because of how honest and emotional she was while speaking about her life before politics.
In her statement, the politician said that she has come from far and her past was full of struggle. She revealed that before joining politics, life was very hard for her.
She used to join other women on the streets of Koinange and River Road in Nairobi CBD at night, waiting for clients so that she could get money to provide for herself and her family.
While in tears, the MP narrated that she never knew God would change her life the way He did. She said she is now in a completely different place, where she is known by many people and even gets the chance to sit close to the president. She described her journey as one full of pain, hope, and faith.
She added that her past life was not easy at all. She had children who depended on her, and at the same time, her parents back in the rural home also relied on her for support. Being the only child made the responsibility even heavier, forcing her to do whatever she could to survive.
The politician also shared that she later received help from a friend who was a senator. The friend gave her a job at his home, which helped her stabilize her life.
After working there for five years, the senator introduced her to politics and even supported her financially during her campaign. That support helped her win the position of Woman Representative.
In her message to young leaders who are going through tough times, she encouraged them to keep praying and believing in God.
She said that no situation is permanent and that their time for blessings will come if they remain patient and focused.
