Tension is growing in the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) after a senior party member accused Deputy Party Leader Cleophas Malala of secretly working for President William Ruto.
The shocking claims were made on the member’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, leaving many Kenyans surprised and worried about the party’s unity.
According to the party member, Malala has been acting as a spy for President Ruto. He claimed that top party leaders, including former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, had already been informed about these allegations.
The party member added that he has been monitoring Malala for some time and discovered that Ruto’s phone number is still saved on Malala’s mobile phone. He said this could be proof that Malala is still in contact with the President.
He further alleged that Malala has been holding private meetings with leaders aligned with Ruto, without sharing the purpose of these talks with DCP.
According to the claims, Malala has been giving away party secrets to Ruto, allegedly in exchange for money and political support for his future ambitions.
The statement also said that Malala is reportedly planning to run for Kakamega governor in the 2027 elections with backing from Ruto’s camp.
The party member concluded that DCP is ready to remove Malala from his position as Deputy Party Leader. A new leader is expected to be announced by Friday, as the party seeks to prevent further betrayal from within.
These allegations have caused heated debate online, with many Kenyans now waiting to hear Malala’s side of the story.
