Vihiga: Three Students from Kaptik Secondary School Die After Being Hit While Heading to School on a Motorcycle

A family in Vihiga County is in deep mourning following the painful death of three students from Kaptik Secondary School. 

The students lost their lives after being involved in a terrible road accident along the busy Chavakali-Kapsabet road on Tuesday morning. The sad news has left the entire community shocked and heartbroken.

According to eyewitnesses who spoke after the accident, the three students were riding on a motorcycle as they were heading to school when a speeding truck hit them. One of the students died on the spot due to the serious injuries. 

The other two students, together with the bodaboda rider, were quickly rushed to Kaimosi Hospital for medical attention. Sadly, the two students later passed away while receiving treatment at the hospital. The bodaboda rider is also reported to have suffered serious injuries.

The tragic incident caused anger among residents. Immediately after the accident, locals gathered at the scene and blocked the road in protest. They accused the truck driver of driving carelessly and overspeeding on the road. 

Residents said accidents have become too common on that road and demanded strict action against reckless drivers.

Leaders from Vihiga County have sent their condolences to the families of the three students. They described the incident as very painful and unfortunate. 

The leaders have also called on the government to improve road safety measures to protect students and other road users from such heartbreaking accidents in the future.
