Sources close to William Ruto have revealed that the Head of State is not happy with how some police officers have been handling recent protests.
According to the information reaching news desks, the president is concerned about reports that police have been carelessly throwing teargas at innocent Kenyans during protests organized by opposition leaders.
The reports say the president is especially disturbed following the death of two innocent Kenyans who were allegedly shot dead by police during protests in Kitengela.
It is claimed that the president now wants clear answers on who exactly ordered the deployment of police officers to what was said to be a peaceful protest.
Those reportedly under pressure are Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Inspector General Douglas Kanja, and DCI Director Amin Mohamed.
Further details indicate that President Ruto has taken a tough stand and is demanding accountability from the three security bosses.
He is said to have warned that there will be serious consequences if he does not receive satisfactory answers on who gave the orders and why excessive force was allegedly used.
The president reportedly stated that the misuse of teargas and firearms against peaceful protesters could amount to a violation of human rights.
He is said to have made it clear that if such actions continue, the law will take its course against those responsible.
However, there has not been an official public statement from State House regarding the matter by the time of publishing this report.
