In Kawangware, Nairobi County, a woman named Catherine Muhia is crying for justice after a terrifying attack on Monday evening. Eight men of Buridian nationality allegedly stormed her rental house, claiming they were sent by her landlord to collect unpaid rent.
Muhia told reporters that she had already spoken to her landlord and promised to pay the Ksh 8,000 she owed next month.
The landlord had agreed to this arrangement, so she was shocked when strangers suddenly attacked her home early in the morning.
She said the men threw all her belongings outside. One of them was holding a hammer, and when she pleaded with them to stop, he swung it.
Tragically, the hammer accidentally struck her three-month-old child on the head. The baby was immediately rushed to the hospital and is now in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“This is the most painful moment of my life. My child did not deserve this,” Muhia said, tears running down her face. She added that she fears for her safety and wants justice to be served.
The matter has been reported to local police, who are investigating the incident. Neighbors expressed shock and outrage over the violence, calling for strict action against the attackers.
