On Monday, leaders aligned with President William Ruto sent a strong message to Kenyans, announcing that there is a reward of Ksh 2 million for anyone who catches and hands over the fomer Deputy President Gachagua to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
In a statement led by several Nairobi MCAs, the leaders accused Gachagua of spreading divisive politics and making false claims about President Ruto. They said his actions are dangerous and could harm the unity of the country.
The leaders warned that if Gachagua is not arrested immediately, he could bring serious trouble to Kenya.
They described him as an enemy of peace and a threat to democracy, stressing that he must be held accountable for his actions.
They also accused the former deputy president of encouraging protests for his personal benefit.
The leaders made it clear that the government would not allow such actions to continue. They urged ordinary Kenyans to take responsibility and assist in arresting Gachagua and taking him to the DCI.
This announcement has sparked debates across social media, with some Kenyans supporting the call while others question the legality and safety of involving citizens in such arrests.
Nonetheless, the message from Ruto’s allies remains firm, showing how tense the political climate is ahead of the upcoming elections.
