Eyewitnesses said the officer had dressed exactly like a lady. He wore a red mini skirt and a matching red blouse and even applied temporary women’s hair on his head to complete the disguise.
Those who saw him said he looked convincing at first, but suspicion arose when his behavior seemed unusual.
When confronted, the officer asked for forgiveness in front of the shocked crowd.
He explained that he was only trying to make a living and was desperate to raise school fees for his children at home.
“Ni unga na school fees nilikuwa natafuta,” he reportedly said, meaning he was only looking for flour and school fees.
Angry men, who claimed to have been deceived by him before, tried to lynch the officer. Chaos erupted in the lodging, and it was only after backup police officers arrived that the situation was brought under control.
The officers managed to rescue James Ukuchata and took him into custody. Authorities have confirmed that the matter is now under investigation, promising to get to the bottom of the unusual case.
Residents continue to talk about the incident, calling it both shocking and unusual. Many expressed concern about why a police officer would go to such lengths, while others sympathized with his struggle to provide for his family.
