On Saturday in Dagoreti South, Nairobi county, a group of Burundian nationals allegedly sent a bold message to Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
They allegedly demanded the immediate arrest of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, and former Attorney General Justin Muturi, stating that the arrests should be done by Monday morning.
In their statement, the Burundians claimed that the opposition leaders have been inciting chaos during elections.
They also accused them of opposing President William Ruto’s re-election bid, saying their actions could destabilize the country if ignored.
Surprisingly, the group also asked President Ruto for help in obtaining Kenyan National IDs. In return, they promised to vote for him in the 2027 elections.
They further called for a constitutional amendment to allow President Ruto to remain in office for several more years.
The message has stirred reactions among Kenyans on social media. Some questioned how foreigners can demand the arrest of top Kenyan leaders.
Others shared humorous comments about the boldness of the message, while a few expressed concern that it could increase political tension ahead of future elections.
