KUCCPS Warns Against Fake Social Media Accounts, Emphasises Official Channels

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has reminded students and parents that its verified Facebook page is the only official social media platform authorised to share placement updates, application guidelines, and admission announcements.

The notice comes amid growing cases of fake accounts impersonating KUCCPS, targeting applicants with false information.

The agency emphasised that it does not request payments via personal phone numbers, unofficial links, or private messages, and students should never share sensitive personal details such as index numbers, ID numbers, or passwords with unknown sources.

KUCCPS coordinates the placement of KCSE candidates into universities, national polytechnics, technical training institutes, and teacher training colleges.

Thousands of students rely on its official channels to secure government-sponsored slots and revise course choices annually.
Education stakeholders have welcomed the move, noting that misinformation during the placement season often causes confusion and anxiety.

Strengthening official digital communication ensures transparency and protects students from fraud.

Students are advised to follow KUCCPS’s verified social media pages and regularly check official updates on deadlines, revision windows, and placement results.
