Gladys Wanga Issues Warning to ODM Leaders Amid Party Concerns

ODM stalwart Gladys Wanga has issued pointed remarks that many political observers interpret as a warning to Edwin Sifuna, though she did not mention him by name.

Speaking publicly, Wanga criticized the presence of leaders from rival parties at what was advertised as an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) event.

She said, “Unatuambia mkutano ni ya ODM na watu wako pale ni DCP, watu wako pale ni Jubilee, watu wako pale ni Wiper…” highlighting the confusion such mixed participation creates.

According to Wanga, ODM must maintain clear and disciplined events for its members to avoid giving an impression of weakness or lack of control.

She stressed that when outsiders dominate meetings, the party risks losing focus, and ordinary citizens may question its unity.

Political analysts interpret her remarks as a subtle signal to Sifuna, who has recently held rallies attended by leaders from other parties.

While some argue that inclusive political engagement can show strength and collaboration, Wanga’s words underscore the need to safeguard party identity and cohesion.

Her statement has sparked debate within ODM and among the wider public, with supporters noting the importance of clarity, discipline, and a united front as the party navigates the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
