The Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) has issued a public notice warning of scheduled power interruptions on February 16 in three counties, including Nairobi, as part of routine maintenance on the electricity network.
According to KPLC, the maintenance is intended to improve service reliability and upgrade sections of the distribution system. Affected areas may experience outages lasting up to eight hours.
The company emphasized that the outages will occur during daytime hours to minimize disruption and urged residents to treat all power lines as live and take necessary precautions.
Businesses relying on continuous electricity have been advised to make alternative arrangements.
Technicians will work on power lines, transformers, and other key infrastructure.
KPLC noted that electricity could be restored earlier than scheduled, depending on the progress of maintenance work.
Customers seeking detailed information about the affected areas are encouraged to check KPLC’s official communication channels for a comprehensive list.
This move aligns with ongoing efforts by KPLC to stabilize electricity supply and modernize infrastructure across the country.
