The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has provided an important update to supervisors and invigilators of the 2024 and 2025 national examinations, assuring them that pending allowances are in the process of being paid.
Many teachers and contracted professionals had raised concerns regarding delays, prompting KNEC to prioritize the matter.
KNEC acknowledged the crucial role exam officials play in ensuring the national assessment process is conducted professionally and effectively.
While recognizing that delays have caused frustration, the Council assured all affected parties that efforts are underway to resolve the issue.
In addition, KNEC announced a three per cent increase in payments for eligible examiners, supervisors, and invigilators to reflect growing responsibilities and the need for greater commitment.
The delays, KNEC explained, have been caused by administrative and technical issues, including discrepancies in personal details and incomplete verification evidence.
Exam officials are urged to verify that their information on the Contracted Professionals database matches their proof of identity and mobile money accounts to prevent further delays.
KNEC emphasized its ongoing collaboration with the Ministry of Education and National Treasury to ensure all eligible personnel receive their full payment packages and pledged to provide timely updates via official communication channels. View_more...
