A section of residents from Kisii County have reportedly issued a strong warning to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, telling him not to step in Kisii again.
The residents allegedly expressed their anger during a gathering on Saturday, where they claimed they do not want him interfering with the region’s politics.
According to reports circulating on social media, the group warned that if Gachagua visits Kisii again, they will not welcome him. They further went on to threaten that they could storm the residence of former CS Fred Matiang'i in Kisii.
They allegedly claimed they would push for his arrest, accusing him of contributing to political division ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
In their statement, the residents accused both Gachagua and Matiang’i of promoting divisive politics in the Kisii region.
They claimed that the area had already declared its support for President William Ruto, and therefore, they do not want leaders who may cause confusion or division among them.
The residents insisted that what they want is unity and development, not political battles. They said they are tired of leaders who divide communities instead of bringing people together.
They made it clear that they will protect their unity at all costs and will not allow outside influence to disrupt their political stand.
However, by the time of publishing this article, none of the leaders mentioned had responded to the allegations or the threats made by the residents.
