“Hakutaka Shule Alitaka Bwana” Sad as Form 2 Student Dies After Alleged Pressure From Mother to Return to School

Residents of Machakos County were left in deep shock after a Form Two student allegedly took her own life following a disagreement with her mother over school attendance.

The tragic incident happened after the mother reportedly insisted that her daughter return to school to continue with her education.

According to reports from the deceased girl’s friends, who were students at the same school, the teenager had stopped attending classes for some time. When her classmates asked why she was no longer going to school, she told them that she had found a man who was taking care of all her needs. The man was said to be much older than her.

The friends further claimed that the girl openly said she did not see the importance of school anymore.

She allegedly told them that she would never leave the man she was involved with and even warned that if anyone tried to interfere with the relationship, she would see no reason to continue living.

When the girl’s mother later learned about the relationship and her daughter skipping school, she reportedly confronted her.

The mother is said to have explained the importance of education and urged her daughter to focus on her future.
Sadly, shortly after the confrontation, the young girl is said to have poisoned herself.

It was also reported that the 16-year-old had been sneaking out of home to meet the older man while telling her mother she was going to school.

After the incident, the body was taken to Machakos Referral Hospital mortuary as police officers launched investigations to establish all the circumstances surrounding the death.

This tragic case has left many residents calling for closer parenting, protection of minors, and open conversations with young people facing emotional challenges.

If you or someone you know is struggling, seeking help from trusted adults, counselors, or calling emergency services can make a difference.
