Drama in Nandi as Section of Residents Protests, Reveals Why Internet, All TV and Radio Stations Should Be Shut Down in the 2027 Election

On Saturday, a section of Nandi residents held a peaceful protest expressing their fears about the upcoming 2027 elections.

They said they are worried that opposition leaders may spread a lot of misinformation online and on other media platforms, which could confuse Kenyans and affect the election results.

In a statement, the residents explained that they fear President William Ruto’s victory might be undermined or even stolen by opposition leaders.

They urged the government to take immediate steps to prevent any possible interference, saying that decisive action is needed to protect the integrity of the elections.

The protesters also called for all TV and radio stations to be shut down during the elections. They further requested that the internet be temporarily restricted, arguing that opposition leaders often use these platforms to manipulate public opinion and organize illegal activities that could influence the voting process.

According to the residents, President Ruto has already built strong support across the country, and they believe that in 2027, the majority of Kenyans will vote for him.

They warned that opposition leaders are likely to play dirty games to change the outcome, which could lead to confusion, protests, and even violence.

Some of the protesters added that shutting down media platforms during the election would ensure a fair and peaceful process, free from fake news and manipulation.

They stressed that this action would help protect democracy and prevent any unnecessary chaos in the country.

The residents concluded by calling on government authorities to listen to their concerns and act fast, saying that a smooth and credible election is in the best interest of all Kenyans.
