Reports circulating on social media claim that Kisii Governor Simba Arati has apologized to residents of Kisii County.
According to a post shared by Kenya News Flash, the governor allegedly admitted that he was used by certain political forces to cause chaos during a rally organized by former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i in Kisii.
According to the same publication, the governor reportedly expressed regret over his actions. He is said to have claimed that the people who influenced him to disrupt the rally are now slowly sidelining him as the 2027 general elections draw near.
The post further alleges that Governor Arati feels politically isolated and disappointed ahead of the upcoming polls.
The reports also claim that the governor asked Kisii residents to help him reconnect with Dr. Matiang’i.
He allegedly called for unity among leaders from the Gusii community, saying that coming together will make the community stronger politically.
He reportedly urged leaders to put aside their differences and focus on unity as the country prepares for the next general elections.
However, it is important to note that these claims are based on social media reports, and there has been no official public statement confirming the apology at the time of publishing this story.
