Otiende Amollo Slams Claims Lake Region Will Back Kalonzo in 2027

Rarieda MP and ODM Deputy Party Leader Otiende Amollo has firmly dismissed viral claims suggesting that the Lake region is planning to support Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the 2027 General Election.

Reacting to a widely circulated graphic using his image and an alleged quote, Otiende described the claims as false, misleading, and politically motivated propaganda aimed at damaging his reputation.

The viral post alleged that the Luo community had already decided to back Kalonzo Musyoka because of his perceived loyalty to Raila Odinga during past elections.

It further claimed that Otiende was attacking ODM leaders Junet Mohamed and Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga for allegedly aligning with President William Ruto.

Otiende dismissed the graphic outright, briefly responding online by stating that the creators of fake information never seem to rest, making it clear that he had nothing to do with the message.
Lawmaker Distances Himself from ODM Meeting Claims

The MP also used the opportunity to address separate claims that he boycotted a recent ODM Central Committee meeting. He clarified that he is not a member of the Central Committee, making the accusations baseless.

According to Otiende, there was no meeting for him to skip, and claims suggesting otherwise were misleading the public.

His statement comes at a time when ODM is grappling with internal disagreements, particularly over its political direction ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party remains divided between leaders supporting cooperation with President William Ruto’s administration and those strongly opposed to the arrangement.

Despite the growing tensions, Otiende
emphasized the importance of truth and unity, warning Kenyans against falling victim to fabricated political narratives designed to create confusion and division.
