Police in Juja, Kiambu County, are investigating the mysterious death of a 28-year-old man following a violent confrontation inside a residential compound that later turned fatal.
The body of Worris Waweru Wamboi was found in an open field in the Ndarasha area, bearing visible head injuries and fresh blood stains at the scene. Officers noted that one of his hands appeared folded behind his back, raising serious questions about the events leading to his death.
According to preliminary police findings, Waweru had earlier been involved in a heated domestic dispute with his mother. During the confrontation, a tenant living in the same compound reportedly stepped in to defuse the situation.
However, the intervention allegedly escalated into a physical altercation, during which Waweru sustained serious head injuries. After the clash, the injured man reportedly left his home and walked nearly 800 metres toward a nearby field.
Witnesses told police that he collapsed along the way and later succumbed to his injuries before receiving medical help. Investigators believe the injuries sustained during the confrontation may have directly contributed to his death.
The body was transferred to the mortuary pending a postmortem examination that will determine the exact cause of death. Meanwhile, police have opened a murder inquiry and are pursuing a suspect believed to have fled the scene after the incident.
Residents of the area expressed shock over the tragic events, as authorities appealed to the public to share any information that could help unravel the circumstances surrounding the death.
