A Kenyan man living in the United States has opened up about growing up constantly compared to Kenya’s first president, Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, due to their striking resemblance.
As a child, peers often told him he looked just like the late president, sparking curiosity about his origins.
“I asked my mother if there was any chance Kenyatta could be my father,” he revealed to Kikuyu Nation TV.
His mother’s reaction was severe. “She slapped me so hard I hit the wall and saw stars. She warned me never to ask again,” he said, adding that this created a lasting strain in their relationship. Even today, decades later, the topic remains taboo.
The man shared that his mother once lived close to Kenyatta and was represented in Parliament by Peter Mbiyu Koinange, further fueling speculation about his parentage.
Despite public curiosity and countless comments about his resemblance, the truth about his origins remains a mystery, leaving him with lingering questions about his family and identity.
