Garissa County received a major boost in education and community development as Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale handed over a 54-seater school bus to Garissa High School.
The donation fulfills a pledge made by President William Ruto during his development tour of North Eastern Kenya in February 2025.
The new vehicle is expected to ease transport challenges, improve participation in academic trips, competitions, and national programs, and enhance the overall school experience for students.
As an alumnus of Garissa High School, CS Duale used the occasion to reaffirm his commitment to giving back to the community that shaped his early life.
He encouraged students to stay focused, work hard, and maintain high ambitions, emphasizing that discipline and determination can pave the way to national leadership and public service.
During the visit, CS Duale also outlined reforms under the Social Health Authority, including plans to onboard national security officers, such as members of the National Police Service and the Kenya Prisons Service, onto the SHA medical cover.
The initiative has been widely welcomed by the community, who view the donation as a step toward improving education and expanding opportunities for students in Garissa County.
