Former K24 Swahili news anchor Milliah Kisienya has opened up about her emotional struggle since being diagnosed with Stage 4 Invasive Breast Cancer, revealing how drastically her life has changed and the emotional toll it has taken.
The once-vibrant journalist shared a heartfelt message on Facebook, admitting that life before the disease feels like a distant dream. She said she often reflects on her past and wonders why fate dealt her such a painful hand.
“There are days I sit down, refresh and recollect myself — life before this monster,” she wrote.
“And I cry a river; it really robbed and stripped so much from me. Why did it choose me? What wrong did I do? Will I ever be normal again?”
Despite the pain, Milliah expressed gratitude for the gift of life, saying her faith keeps her strong even on the hardest days.
“But then there is little that can be done. However, I got another chance to breathe. God above all, He gave me that chance,” she added.
How She Learned About Her Diagnosis
Milliah Kisienya’s journey with cancer began in December 2024, when doctors diagnosed her with Stage 4 Invasive Breast Cancer.
Before the diagnosis, she had been suffering from a lumbar spine problem, unaware that the pain was caused by cancer that had already spread to her bones.
The discovery changed her life completely, forcing her to face an uncertain future while remaining strong for herself and her loved ones.
