One of the most unusual courtroom stories in recent history unfolded after a man who wanted to avoid staying at home ended up being ordered to remain there.
In 2016, 70-year-old Lawrence John Ripple entered the Bank of Labor in Kansas City, Kansas, and handed a bank teller a note claiming he was armed before demanding cash. After receiving $2,924, he made no effort to flee.
Instead, he quietly sat in the bank lobby until police officers arrived. When security personnel confronted him, he openly admitted that he was the robber they were searching for.
Investigators later learned that Ripple had argued with his wife earlier that day and had written the robbery note while still at home. Get The Full Story Here.
