𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 🇮🇷 🇺🇸 Iran Claims to Have Shot Down U.S. LUCAS One-Way Attack Drone

Tehran, July 20 – Iranian officials say the country's air defense forces have shot down a U.S.-made LUCAS one-way attack drone near the southern port city of Bandar Abbas as it allegedly approached the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.

According to Iranian state media, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) intercepted the drone during what authorities described as an attempted attack. Officials also released photos and video they claim show the wreckage of the unmanned aircraft following the interception.

The reported incident comes amid heightened military tensions in the region, with the Strait of Hormuz remaining one of the world's most critical maritime routes for global oil shipments. Any military activity near the waterway is closely monitored due to its potential impact on regional security and international trade.

The LUCAS drone is a relatively low-cost one-way attack system reportedly developed by U.S.-based defense company SpektreWorks. Estimated to cost about $35,000 per unit, it is designed for large-scale, attritable operations and has been compared by defense analysts to Iran's Shahed-136 loitering munition because of its role as a low-cost strike platform.
