A U.S. service member has been killed and another injured in northern Iraq during a controlled operation to dispose of unexploded ordnance recovered from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone, according to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
CENTCOM said the incident occurred while explosive ordnance disposal personnel were carrying out a planned detonation of the drone's remaining explosives.
The blast claimed the life of one service member and left a second wounded. The identity of the fallen service member is being withheld until the next of kin have been notified. See More Here.
