Breaking: IRGC Says It Intercepted US-Made Cruise Missile During Overnight Attack

Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) says it intercepted and destroyed what it described as a U.S.-made cruise missile during overnight military operations, marking another escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Tehran and Washington. 

According to the IRGC, the missile was detected by Iran's air defense systems and brought down before it reached its intended target. 

Iranian officials identified the weapon as an AGM-158 JASSM (Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile), a long-range precision-guided cruise missile manufactured in the United States. 

The IRGC claimed the interception demonstrated the effectiveness of Iran's integrated air defense network amid continued U.S. military operations targeting Iranian positions. 

The announcement comes as fighting between the United States and Iran continues to intensify. In recent days, the U.S. has carried out multiple strikes against Iranian military infrastructure, including missile launch sites, command centers, and air defense systems, while Iran has responded with missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military facilities across the region.
