Speaking from his hospital bed, the officer narrated that the incident occurred at around 9:30 PM while he was driving through a quiet section of Roysambu. He said he was approached by a young woman who flagged him down by the roadside.

According to him, the woman appeared distressed and politely requested his assistance, explaining that she was facing an urgent problem that needed immediate attention. Trusting her plea, he agreed to help.

The officer further stated that the woman then asked him to accompany her to a nearby lodging so they could talk in private. Suspecting nothing unusual, he followed her inside.

However, upon entering the room, he was allegedly shocked to find a large group of women already inside. He estimated their number to be about 19, bringing the total to more than 20 including the woman who had initially approached him.

He explained that shortly after he entered, one of the women locked the door from inside. The group then allegedly surrounded him and demanded that he hand over all his valuables, including money and personal belongings.

The officer reported that the situation quickly escalated, and he was physically assaulted during the incident, leaving him injured and in significant pain. He added that everything happened so fast that he was unable to clearly identify or recognize those involved.

Police have since launched investigations into the matter as the officer continues to receive medical care. Authorities are working to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the incident.

Meanwhile, residents of Roysambu have raised concerns over growing insecurity in the area, particularly incidents reported at night, calling for increased police patrols and tighter security measures.
