Her homecoming reportedly turned tragic after she uncovered painful details about her past romantic relationship.
Before the incident, she is said to have opened up about how much she trusted her former boyfriend, even more than her own parents.
She explained that despite their breakup, she still had strong feelings for him and believed he would remain faithful to her trust.
According to her account, she decided to send him all her earnings while she was abroad so he could safely keep the money for her. She had worked tirelessly overseas, hoping to return home and benefit from her years of sacrifice.
However, upon her return, she allegedly discovered that the man had spent the money, which totaled Ksh 850,999 accumulated over seven years of hard work abroad.
She further claimed that the ex-boyfriend only managed to construct a substandard house for her before later disappearing with the remaining funds. This allegedly left her devastated, shocked, and without hope.
Before the incident, she reportedly sought forgiveness from her parents, expressing that the betrayal she experienced was too overwhelming to bear.
The story has since sparked widespread reactions online, with many Kenyans expressing sorrow and also reflecting on the risks of placing full financial trust in romantic partners.
